PostHeaderIcon Gym Ideas and DIY Equipment

Ok! Here is a big project (pull up bars) and some of the common setups I have seen in the style of gym I am going for. Not sure how easy this project would be but I definanently would like to design something that would allow multiple people to be on at once since I love having people race. I also like this very top one how it is set to different heights. It is one of the only ones I have seen like this.

The style below is the most common design in cross fit gyms. It is sold online for several grand. I think the length is around 36′ long and about 6′ in height. I put a diagram I found online of one the USMC sales.

The single pipe below is a common setup in a lot of California gyms because it is mounted outside of the bay door. I have seen up to 8 people on some of these. I think I would also like to set something like this up as well as the indoor setup. Just for those warm days outside. Looks like a somewhat simple set up even though the one below broke.

The boxes below are PLYO-BOXES and these things are a must. Again they sell these little wooden boxes for lots of cash-ola but I think we can build them for far less. And I have an exact how to pdf. which I attached below. The average size would be the 20” and 10" in picture, the two on the right.

Below is the famous Prowler 1 sled. They are also very popular and range in price. The one below is the first model and would suffice for me. They have a prowler 2 which is the white one that the bid boy is pulling in the second photo. Not alot of difference but the reason theses sleds are so popular is because unlike the common sled you can also push them and this makes them a better training tool.

Prowler 2

Homemade Prowler and one of the best homemade I have seen but the guy won’t put out any plans on his dimensions.

Prowler 2 also home made

And this is just a simple pulling sled that I think would be fun to have a few.

And last is the rings for ring exercises. These are very important as well because of the movement you can do with them. The ring set up themselves are very expensive but I have seen several DIY projects and the most common is the one below. Where you take pvc heat it in the oven bend it around a paint can and voila!.. You have a ring. Apparently these are very sturdy but have a few downfalls and they look crappy. But again you can build these in your apartment but some of the better designs are done with wood.

Here is the link to the wooden rings that some guy made and they look  very impressive. To many photos so just click on the link.

here are a couple photos from the page.

These look much better than the pvc rings at the top.
